OUR CORK

What makes ECORK different?

At Ecork, we don’t offer standard solutions — we offer flexibility, consistency and real support for rod builders.

Our strength lies in understanding that every project is different. That’s why we work with natural cork, burl cork, agglomerated cork, rubberized cork, allowing customers to build grips and components exactly as they envision them.

We focus on reliability and repeatability, ensuring consistent quality from batch to batch, while giving our clients the freedom to choose materials, configurations and finishes without unnecessary limitations.

Details matter. That’s why all Ecork cork rings are supplied with the center hole included, at no extra cost — because it should be standard, not an option.

Ecork is not about selling cork.
It’s about being a trusted manufacturing partner for custom and professional rod building.

Natural Cork Rings - Cold Processed Cork

Ecork natural cork rings are produced from high-quality natural cork, using a cold processing method that preserves the cork’s original cellular structure.

This approach maintains the lightweight feel, natural porosity and tactile sensitivity that many rod builders value, especially in applications where direct contact and feedback are essential.

Natural cork rings offer a traditional and organic character, making them an excellent choice for grips where sensitivity and classic cork performance are the priority.

Since natural cork is boiled, can it still be considered a cold process?

Yes, natural cork does go through a boiling process, but that does not make it a hot process in the manufacturing sense used in rod building and cork component production.

Boiling is a standard and essential preparatory step in the cork industry. It is carried out before any transformation and serves to:

  • expand the cork

  • remove impurities

  • release internal stresses

  • stabilize dimensions

  • sterilize the material

This boiling process does not bind particles, does not use resins, and does not create a new material. The cork remains solid, natural, and structurally unchanged.

When we refer to cold processing, we mean that the cork is not consolidated using heat and pressure to form a new material. After boiling, natural cork rings are simply selected, cut, drilled, and shaped, preserving the cork’s original cellular structure.

Burl Cork Rings - Hot Processed Cork

Ecork burl cork rings are manufactured from cork granules combined, using a controlled hot process (heat and pressure).

Unlike raw burl cork produced only by cold cutting, this method allows the natural cork to be structurally bonded and stabilized, using resin solely as a technical binder, without rubber, EVA or synthetic composites.

The result is a burl cork material that offers:

  • Higher consistency between rings and batches;

  • Reduced open porosity;

  • Lower water absorption;

  • Excellent sanding and shaping behavior;

  • Increased durability for intensive rod use.

Ecork Burl is not an artificial composite.
It is cork, technically optimized for performance and repeatability.

Rubberized Cork Rings – Engineered for Durability

Ecork rubberized cork rings are manufactured by combining natural cork granules with rubber components, creating a material designed for high durability and resistance.

This material offers a more compact and resilient structure compared to traditional natural cork, making it particularly suitable for applications exposed to impact, abrasion and intensive use.

Rubberized cork rings provide:

  • Increased resistance to wear and damage

  • Reduced water absorption

  • High structural stability

  • Consistent density and performance

  • Excellent suitability for high-stress grip areas

Ecork rubberized cork rings are designed for function first, offering a reliable solution where durability and longevity are critical.
